BRIEF

To SKA assess and advise GVA on the implementation of sustainable practise on their new West End office fit-out. GVA were initially aiming to achieve a Bronze SKA rating for this project. The office space aimed to provide a contemporary, welcoming and flexible environment for staff, clients and visitors and to enable GVA to retain, recruit and nurture the best talent.

SOLUTION

We were able to support the internal project team through exploration of the current design and delivery approach, to help them meet the necessary target measures and enable the achievement of a Silver SKA rating.

We conducted site meetings, collected photo records and supported both consultants and the contractor. The size and approach on this project showed how SKA rating and sustainable approach to interiors can be integrated no matter the project size. Bilfinger GVA benchmarked their Berkeley Square premises with SKA as part of their corporate approach to always reduce environmental impacts.

Their main London HQ at 65 Gresham Street achieved a Gold SKA rating, and details can be found here.

“Thank you, and Elina, for your work on this project – it has been a worthwhile experience to go through and a great introduction for me personally to the Ska rating system.”
