We are extremely proud to announce that our very own Elina Grigoriou has been awarded the prestigious Honorary membership of RICS (HonRICS). Fewer than 200 honorary memberships have been awarded worldwide over the past 150 years since the RICS was founded.
The award is in recognition of her work in promoting the surveying profession through the creation of SKA schemes and raising awareness of sustainability issues.
In the formal invitation received by Amanda Clack FRICS, RICS President 2016/17 states: “The award of HonRICS is to recognise your outstanding contribution to raising the profile of the surveying profession and the built environment sector, particularly through your work in creating new SKA schemes, supporting the continuing professional development of SKA Assessors, and raising awareness of sustainability issues.
Through your work, we are sure that you share our commitment to promoting the highest professional standards in the sustainability, commercial property and facilities management sectors.”
Following the news Elina comments: “It was a great surprise, and huge honour to receive this award. As with everything it is a team effort; both within RICS and GI teams, and the wider collaborative sectors, and I’m the lucky one to get the recognition. I will add the letters after my name and represent them proudly. Seeing first hand the effect the scheme makes in the project meetings themselves is amazing, nudging client choices towards doing good and supporting good practice as it educates consultants and the supply chain. I look forward to working with all parties with more enthusiasm than ever to green and sustain this fabulous world we live in.”
In addition to the personal honour conferred on Elina, this award highlights the prominence that SKA rating now receives and the value it represents to RICS and its members.
