During the design process for my current project for a women’s business club in Covent Garden I went to Swarovski’s office on Sackville Street in West London to view some and select items suitable. We left having all but fixed our minds on Ice branch pieces, Caillou pendants and Glitterbox amongst other fabulous items… The visit was such a joy and my eyes were feasting on glitter and beauty! The highlights were seeing up close the Tom Dixon ball and the Blossom… One day, one day very soon, I’ ll be able to use them both!
What is not widely known perhaps is that Swarovski have expanded to furnishings, fabrics and table accessories. So very worth the money… I would be interested to know what is involved in the manufacturing process of crystal but would my initial thoughts that this is a relatively green product be correct? The light fittings mostly work with LEDs and all materials can be re-used so it remains to see how much energy is used during manufacture to establish a better profile.
Some (very unprofessional and undeserving) picks below from the visit; but better views here until I finish my project that is!!
