Counting Upfront Carbon: The New Report

Counting the upfront carbon in Cat B office fit out Report

We are so excited to share our key involvement in the new report: “Counting the upfront carbon in Cat B office fit out” organised, curated and published by the Overbury team under the talented leadership of Zoe Glander.

Experts from across the office fit out sector were invited by the Overbury team to collaborate under the UK Net Zero Carbon Standard’s research team umbrella and find the answers and solutions we need to make the real, necessary changes and improve on embodied carbon reductions. Within this report we have a wealth of insights – we will be sharing a breakdown of insights in due course, but for now, please do take a look and enjoy the findings we have shared so far – full of possibility and real impact.

In our team at Grigoriou Interiors, we have a great sense of pride about our involvement in this industry work, and much joy too! Fit out is often the kid that’s left out in the sector, so it has been special to be a part of genuine collaboration, sharing of resources within in the industry and carve the rightful space for fit out.

The findings of this report were initially shared to industry peers at Footprint 2024, when Zoe Glander, Andrew Moore, Asif Din, Will Belfield and Elina Grigoriou presented key findings.

This work leads to a lot of what we’ve been working on at Grigoriou Interiors, and is a wonderful example of our purpose – giving clients facts and figures that mean something, that make true impact – helping to achieve corporate commitments to net zero alignment – Delivery of a pathway to 2030 that is stimulating the industry, the supply chain, the clients – giving a clear recipe of solutions and actions…. This is that. And we couldn’t be more excited to share.

As a society we know now is the time, as a company we are fortunate to work with such agile clients and peers as this, to create true impact and reassurance that the actions are tangible in day to day existence, as well as for the long term shift we need to make happen for the greater good. This wouldn’t have happened if people didn’t care, so it is a true collaboration of hearts and mind. And it has already made a difference through its contribution to the UK NZC Buildings Standard, helping to inform the upfront carbon limits which will be set for offices, so we share a great deal of gratitude for everyone involved – what pride and excitement for all that lies ahead.

More in due course, but for now please do take a look and share with those who would benefit from the insights: https://shorturl.at/GaEu2
