Full details of all products and materials that have been awarded the SKA Product Compliant Label will be updated monthly on the RICS website and SKA Product Compliant web page. This new identity and labeling scheme will make it easier for designers and specifiers to search and find sustainable products and materials to use in their fit-out projects, saving considerable time and hassle.
Compliant products can also be listed on the online directory Specifinder which is currently the only online directory with a SKA Compliant search function.
SKA Rating
SKA Rating is an environmental assessment tool for the design and delivery of fit-out and refurbishment projects. The tool is operated by the RICS and is designed to help landlords, tenants and their project teams assess fit-out projects against a set of sustainability good practice criteria. It is estimated that 11% of UK construction spending is on fit-outs and that buildings may have 30-40 fit-outs during their lifecycle. See here for more information.
SKA Product Compliant Label
A large proportion of SKA Rating Good Practice Measures encourage the specification of products and materials with good environmental performance. Launched in 2014, the SKA Rating Product Compliance Label was set up to help SKA Rating accredited assessors, specifiers and manufacturers by providing a simple way to identify products and materials that meet individual SKA Rating criteria.

We are a long standing RICS SKA Rating Development Partner for the Office, Retail and Higher Education schemes, which means that – in addition to our design expertise – we are also at the heart of the latest industry developments and initiatives regarding sustainability in fit-out. Our passion for SKA Rating together with our involvement in and support of the initiative has been instrumental in bringing the system into effect, both in the UK and internationally.
